Mosesholmen is an island with a deep-water shore in the south which lies in a sheltered bay, Vallsviken. Mosesholmen is a popular destination for boaters and the jetty in Vallsviken gives excellent shelter in rough weather against winds from every direction. There are grill sites and an outhouse toilet near the jetty. Hällskär is in fact a peninsula and it is accessible by private roads. People come here to enjoy life on warm summer days. This penin- Mosesholmen Photo: Alf-Arne Harjo sula is unusual in our archipelago, since it consists of a single rock. The cliffs and outcrops invite people to bathe and relax, although the high cliffs and deep water may coause concern for parents of small children. The water surrounding Hällskär is deep (approx. 3 metres) and it is easy to moor large boats right up against the cliffs. On the north side of Hällskär there is a grill site and there is a former tar-making site on the island.
